Description
Palladium catalysts are precious metal catalysts made of palladium as the main active component. It ranks second only to platinum among platinum group metal catalysts. Palladium catalysts show good activity for hydrogenation, oxidation, dehydrogenation, hydrogenolysis reactions, etc. The two main forms of palladium catalysts are compounds and carrier-loaded. Palladium acetate is a yellowish brown or reddish brown homogeneous powder, stable in air, soluble in toluene, acetic acid, chloroform, methylene chloride, acetone, acetonitrile and ether, insoluble in water, trimeric in benzene, monomeric in glacial acetic acid.
Palladium acetate is a palladium compound with a wide range of applications. As an important raw material for palladium plating baths and gas-sensitive materials and for the synthesis of other palladium compounds, it is mainly used as a catalyst for a key step in the synthesis of drug or pharmaceutical intermediates, mainly for olefin aromatization reactions (Heckreaction), cross-coupling reactions, Suzuki coupling reactions. It can also be applied to alkene carbonylation reaction and ketone synthesis by oxidation of alkene and 2-ol. It has great applications in the cyclohexanone, adipic acid and caprolactam industries, as well as in the synthesis of nonlinear optical materials.
