It is mainly used as a catalyst for coupling reactions such as Sonogoshira coupling, carbonylation catalyst for halogenated substances, halogenated alkanes to make aldehydes, carboxylic acids, amides, etc., halogenated alkanes react with acetylene to form alkyne compounds with extended carbon chains.
