Description
Potassium chloroplatinate is orange-yellow crystal or powder, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol and ether. The solubility in 100g of water is 0.90g (10℃), 1.12g (20℃), 2.16g (50℃), 3.79g (80°C). It decomposes into metallic platinum when burned, and reacts with magnesium and mercury to produce metallic platinum. It is commonly used in industry to prepare potassium chloroplatinate.
